CPRI opts for environmentally friendly MTSA switches

28 April 2022

By signing the contract for the supply of MTSA Make Switch 1210 and MTSA Master Break Switch 1214 with associated peripheral equipment for the expansion and modernization of the High Power Laboratory in Bangalore, the national Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) of India makes a final decision for the environmentally friendly technology of MTSA Technopower.

In 2021, CPRI also chose the MTSA Make Switch 1210. In this case, for the CPRI High Power Lab in Bhopal. These switches will be delivered and commissioned this summer. “CPRI has opted for a very reliable, accurate and environmentally friendly system that does not use the harmful greenhouse gas SF6, but instead works on the basis of compressed air,” explains Rob van der Sluis, Manager Marketing and Sales at MTSA Technopower.

For MTSA Technopower, this is an important project and a definitive breakthrough in India. “Currently, all major leading High Power Labs in the world, such as CESI-KEMA and ICMET in Europe and the US, EETI and Pinggao – part of State Grid in China, KERI in Korea and soon CPRI in India use MTSA’s switches.” , says Rob van der Sluis.
